Sophia Kalkau - the Substance and the Egg

For Sophia Kalkau, the best works are those that render her silent. The film follows the making of ‘The Egyptian Egg’ and ‘The Marble Column’, offering insight into an artistic practice driven by balance, form, and minimalism. We are invited into Kalkau’s playful stream of thought and witness how geometric forms and self-staged photographic works take shape—works that were awarded the Art Critics Prize at the 2018 exhibition ‘Line of Circles’.
