Danish-German artist Christian Lemmerz has achieved rare recognition in the art world, yet he still wrestles with whether his work truly reaches the viewer. His art spans drawing, sculpture, and performance, often marked by dark themes and existential reflections. This portrait follows Lemmerz during the creation of the 3.5-meter bronze statue ‘Lazarus’ and takes us to the Italian artist town of Pietrasanta, where he works and lives, and where his creative abilities fully unfold.
